Travels inspire this jewelry designer to create

OVALE Red Bracelet

Elisabeth Paradon, the creator of the extraordinary Ziio jewelry, began designing in the early ’80s. Her creations in silver, gold and semiprecious stones, entirely hand-worked, use a technique developed through years of travel and working in different countries.

In magnificent Egypt Elisabeth first found the conditions conducive to expressing herself and creating her jewelry—a far cry from her native France and the traditional art of the goldsmith.

Elisabeth traveled to the Greek Islands and Thailand, where she learned different production methods, and experimented with different materials and techniques.

In Venice, she learned the ancient art of the Murano master glassmaker, and her designs aroused the interest of collectors all over the world.

In Milan and Paris, Elisabeth collaborated with important houses such as Lacroix, Missoni and Studio Mendini for Swatch.

In 1994, Elisabeth started to present two collections a year. Her combination of semiprecious stones, silver and Murano glass beads, and her sophisticated hand workmanship has created a unique style. Her designs are worn by royalty—Queen Rania of Jordan looked stunning in a Ziio necklace.

Today, Elisabeth lives and works in Tuscany. For the last 20 years, Ziio has been distributed in jewelry stores and boutiques worldwide.

The latest collection is called Année Lumière or light year—an invitation to immensity, to the creative space.

The “cosmic” model—spheres of numerous planets scattered through space—offers a line of bracelets in two sizes, with earrings and necklaces, available in green, pink and the classic black and white.

The Mamba snakes, sensuous with their sinuous lines, come to life on the wrist, around the neck and as earrings. Turquoise, garnet, black and white have been used for this model.

DOMUS Viola Pendant

The Mamba pendants are versatile, in three sizes: Baby for discreet touch, a small gift; Small, a perfect dimension for its balance; and Large.

The Couture bracelet was created for the Couture Salon of Las Vegas, and was kept hidden in the atelier to be presented in Europe in September.

Ziio is available at Rustan’s Makati and Shangri-La.
