Starting Monday, Sept. 16, the Manila Polo Club will host the 2013 Philippine Ladies Tennis League (PLTL) tournament. Over 175 women from all over the Philippines will compete to win the coveted ladies’ team tennis title of the year.
This event provides a unique social and competitive atmosphere for both casual and competitive players.
With 22 teams competing in two divisions, the five-week-long tournament will bring out the best in women’s tennis in the Philippines.
Last year’s winners were Valle Verde Country Club in Division A and Team Jewels in Division B.
The women competing in this event are from all walks of life—mothers, businesswomen, career women and homemakers. Tennis helps them stay active physically and socially, and the annual PLTL tournament showcases their tenacity and competitiveness.
The Philippine Ladies Tennis League is on its 17th year. It is run entirely by volunteers and is funded by generous sponsors. The love of tennis and the spirit of the women playing the sport have helped make this event successful each year.
This year’s tournament is supported by CBRE Philippines, Creamsilk, Fila, Globe Broadband, Manila Hotel, Manila Polo Club and Solaire Resort & Casino.
Technifibre is the official ball sponsor. Riesling Boracay Resort will award free hotel stays for “Best Team in Uniform” on opening day.
Other contributing sponsors are Franck Provost, Forty Winks, Jollibee Food Corp., Super 8, The Henry Hotel-Cebu, L’Oreal, Magnum, Nothing But Water and Yabu.
