The Pinto Art Gallery presents three one-man shows featuring Raffy T. Napay, Mark Andy Garcia and Neil Pasilan. Each artist came up with his own theme.
Napay, who was recently awarded the prestigious Ateneo Art Awards 2013, explores a theme revolving around “Home.” He explained: “It depicts close family ties, a bountiful of love, caring and lightness of spirit.” He uses thread and fabric on canvas.
Garcia’s theme, “Better Days Ahead,” was motivated by sad experiences: “Recently, I encountered tragic events that affected me emotionally and spiritually. My works in this show are reflections of these events, which led me to learn to handle things differently. When my surroundings change, I also change. This change leads to growth.”
Pasilan reflected on his own theme, “Always Watching”: “At any time in our lives, at any place, there are always people watching.”
The shows opened on Saturday and will run till Oct. 5. The Pinto Art Gallery is at No. 1 Sierra Madre St., Grand Heights, Antipolo City. Call tel. nos. 6971015 and 0918-3187558.
