Despite a 13-hour flight from the United States where she received the “Most Trusted Brand by Filipinos Worldwide” from the recent Adobo Fil-Am Festival in San Francisco, my fave beauty guru, Dr. Vicki Belo, looked smashing and fresh.

She went straight to Iloilo City for an exclusive lunch with top southern women at the chi-chi Kalantiao Hall of the famous Sarabia Manor Hotel and Convention Center.

The hotel was adorned with eye-catching pink floral arrangements, accentuated by an all-white muslin draping on the ceiling. Thanks to the ingenuity of party planner Jane Javellana who outdid herself this time.

Naturally the Iloilo trip was masterminded by Belo marketing consultant Jojie Dingcong, who’s designing the whole national roadshow for the Belo brands and ZO.

The southern A-listers were feted to a scrumptious buffet consisting of Mexican salad bar, grilled fish primavera with tortilla salsa, Italian baby-back ribs, baked lasagna, callos Madrileña, and the divine rosemary chicken and butter sans rival, excellently prepared by chef Pauline Banusing.

Then Doc Vicki gave a detailed, informative talk about the latest beauty treatments offered by the Belo Medical Group. It impressed and whetted the interest of some 300 mostly women guests.

She also introduced to the ladies her ZO Obagi Skin Health Products “that aims to fight the signs of aging with its powerful ingredients.” Helping Vicki make the pitch for the miracle cream was ZO Obagi Ambassador, the tall and handsome Hayden Kho, who was mobbed by the women for photo-op, to which he gamely obliged. He also sat down with different groups to expound on the wonders of ZO Obagi Skin Health Products.

Many of the ladies formed long lines to the Belo Medical Group doctors, who gave advice on addressing their skin and other beauty concerns.

Needless to say, palanggas, making a big splash was the ZO Obagi Skin Health Products, which were sold faster than you could bat an eyelash.

Helping gather Iloilo’s VIPs and glamorous women to the unique gathering was Tatler contributor Nonoi Ybiernas.

Norma Rosales and her daughters Pangging and Pane also hosted an elegant dinner for the Belo Medical Group at their well-appointed Strawberry Mansion.

Belo Medical Group has so far held successful launches of its products and services in Bacolod and Iloilo. Did I hear Cagayan de Oro is next?

Oprah and ‘The Butler’

RICARDO Po, Malu Gamboa, Rajo Laurel

We watched the recent advanced screening of a delightful film, “The Butler,” starring wonder woman Oprah Winfrey and Forest Whitaker, at the posh SM Aura Premier in Bonifacio Global City.

Interesting personalities and moviegoers braved the floods and frustrating traffic for this one-of-a-kind movie based on the life of a former White House butler, Eugene Allen, with civil rights as historical backdrop.

The audience turnout was so successful that Leo Po, CEO of Reality Multimedia Inc., the film’s distributor, decided to hold back-to-back screenings on the same night.
