PWU holds Spanish Music Festival

The Philippine Women’s University, with the support of the Spanish Program for Cultural Cooperation under its Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, will hold the Spanish Music Festival, Oct. 21-25, 5 p.m., at Music Recital  Hall, Taft campus, Manila.

 

“La Vida Breve”  of Manuel de Falla is the initial presentation on Oct. 21 to be directed by noted baritone Marvin Gayramon with the PWU Music faculty, Vocal Ensemble and Music Theater Groups.

 

The piano works of Granados, Albeniz and De Falla to be interpreted by renowned pianist and artist-in-residence Rudolf  Golez is set on Oct. 22.

 

Set on Oct. 23 is “Guitarra” by Benchito Cariño, Ramoncito Carpio, Franco Maigue and José Valdes.

 

On Oct. 24 will be “Federico Mompou and His Music,” directed by Richelle Rivera. The PWU Music faculty will perform.

 

Closing the festival on Oct. 25, 5 p.m., is the Spanish  Pop concert at the Conrado Benitez Hall, to be directed by Francis Amora. Performing will be the PWU Pop Music Ensemble.

 

Concerts are open to the public.
