If you want to be a little bit more creative with your Halloween table this year, this may be a craft for you. The ingredients are cheap enough to produce enough for a good number of guests.
What you’ll need:
- Eggs, boiled and peeled
- Black olives, pitted
- Paring knife or any knife with a sharp tip
Using the paring knife or sharp tip of a knife, carve out the “eyes,” “ears” and “mouth” on the white of the eggs; be careful not to pierce through the yolk. Your incisions should be elongated slightly for the “eyes” and “ears” to give that scared expression.
Cut small pieces of black olives to fit into the holes. Repeat the process for all the eggs.
Tip: Serve your “howling eggs” carefully, positioning them upright on a platter, preferably a solid colored one like black or orange for a more dramatic effect.
