Where were you last Hallow’s Eve, dahlings? Over at Resorts World, “citizens” turned “victims” of Republiq found themselves entering a house of horrors at the club’s annual Halloween Ball.

Presented by the smartphone app Viber, the event dubbed “Haunted Republiq” had guests going through a maze starting at the club’s lobby. The maze led into sections that included a bloody kitchen, an eerie living room and a terrifying children’s room—each occupied by ghosts and zombies spooking everyone who dared enter.

Since backing out was prevented by burly and equally frightening bouncers, moving forward was the only option, palangga.

Après screaming through twists and turns, the guests were finally welcomed to the party—surrounded by other party people dressed as angels, demons, soldiers, princesses and other characters.

It was difficult to decide who wore the best costumes, but Kier Yap and Vion Tuzon—who were both garbed in outlandish white outfits—emerged as winners. They were each given an iPad courtesy of Viber.

The transformation of Republiq from a dance club into a haunted mansion was impressive. Walls and columns were adorned by portraits of centuries-old individuals and families. Bars

and tables were strewn with cobwebs and skulls. The stage and DJ’s booth were fitted with two large staircases.

As booze fortified the senses, music boomed from the enchanting mixes of wizard DJs Mars Miranda, Ace Ramos, Marc Naval and Martin Pulgar.

It was a long night, but partying at the Haunted Republiq sure was fun. No wonder the guests couldn’t believe the sun was shining when they stepped  out of Resorts World.

‘Into the Void’

Another Halloween bash worth talking about was the one hosted by Trish Panlilio and her sister Vicky Panlilio, along with Trish’s sons Quintin, Matteo and Luca Cu-Unjieng.

The party, dubbed “Blackout Tendencies–Into the Void,” held at R space on Nicanor Garcia (formerly Reposo) Street, Makati City, featured DJ Josh Araullo.

Guests came out in really scary costumes and had a hell lot of fun dancing till dawn.

Denisse Oca as Thor won best costume of the night. Vicky Panlilio had the “most fabulous” outfit, while Matteo Cu-Unjieng as Pinocchio was chosen as “most fun.” Trish Panlilio herself looked awesome as Bridezilla.

The yummy food included lasagna al forno, beef barbecue, garlic chicken lollipops, shrimp siomai, spring rolls, bruschetta, plus fish balls and hard-to-resist “dirty” ice cream.

And just when it seemed the night would not end, the party people had to be swept out by the party pooper’s broomstick at the break of dawn, palangga!

Cinderella makeover

Fashion specialty store Cinderella celebrated the first stage of refurbishing its branch at Alabang Town Center (ATC) with the official launch of “Martin Bautista X Cinderella.”

The event was the perfect outing for Bautista’s signature pieces, as the renovated branch’s brightly lit space highlighted the vibrant hues and drapery that the young designer is known for.

Terry Waterhouse of Redgoodss and the Cinderella project team worked together for the store to project inspirational fashion and world-class shopping experience at affordable prices for the entire family, palangga.

A fashion show—hosted by Cloie Syquia-Concepcion, who, along with the featured models, wore Martin Bautista pieces—emphasized the classy-sexy aesthetic of the designer’s creations.

Makeup was sponsored by Misha.

The show was followed by a toast to Bautista presided over by Cinderella CEO Arthur Coronel, VP for international brands Richard Santos and vice chair Therese Coronel-Santos.
