Alain Ducasse wants to help Manila’s street children

Ducasse Institute Philippines at Enderun Colleges and Ducasse Education in France will host a charity dinner, dubbed “Youth with a Future,” on Nov. 25 at the Peninsula Manila. Award-winning chef and founderof Ducasse Education, Alain Ducasse, is guest of honor.

 

Guests will have a five-course dinner prepared by the Ducasse Institute Philippines team led by chef Jérôme Lacressonnière, Ducasse Education chef instructor and consultant.

 

All proceeds will benefit the culinary center of Tuloy Foundation Inc.

 

“After learning more about the Tuloy Foundation from chef Jérôme Lacressonnière on his last visit in Manila, I was very impressed by its rich advocacy, which is to reintegrate street children into mainstream society through a comprehensive program of caring, healing and teaching,” explained Ducasse.

 

Access to a better life

 

“I do believe that learning to cook is a very effective way for less fortunate people to get a job and gain access to a better life,” he added.

culinary program. The program included an apprenticeship in Ducasse’s restaurants.

 

“Youth with a Future” aims to support and provide educational scholarships to 21 culinary students of Tuloy Foundation.

 

Ducasse Institute Philippines will enhance the current curriculum of Tuloy Foundation by patterning it after the existing programs offered in Enderun’s campus.

 

Following an eight-month program in the Tuloy Foundation campus, the students will be exposed to further training for two months at Ducasse Institute Philippines.

 

These beneficiaries will complete their program with internship placements to run from three to five months. The scholars will benefit from the expertise of world-class chefs at Ducasse Institute Philippines, Enderun Colleges’ strong internship and career placement program.

 

Youth with a Future will initially support 21 students of Tuloy Foundation.
