If you’re a doctor…

Yolanda Medical Relief is a Facebook page run by medical groups based in Manila and the United States. They are looking for kind souls to donate medicine and other medical supplies (a comprehensive list is available on their page).

Cash donations are also accepted. They are also in need of doctors to volunteer for medical missions, as well as transportation to send volunteer doctors to areas where they are needed most. (Visit  www.facebook.com/YolandaMedical to know more; and follow them on Twitter: @YolandaMedical)

If you have old mobile phone chargers…

The National Institute of Physics in UP Diliman launched “Project Lightline.” Donate old mobile phone chargers which they will use to create portable chargers for those who still have no power in affected areas. (For donations and information, you may proceed to VISSER F105, National Institute of Physics, UP Diliman.)

If you have great computer skills…

Bangon PH (www.bangonph.com) is a website recently set up which collates data from relief efforts by NGOs, private sectors and individuals. The site enables the public to see where relief efforts are needed most, and other relevant information are provided which could help get aid faster to areas that need it. Given the magnitude of the damage, Bangon PH is in need of volunteers for data gathering. (You can e-mail [email protected] or Skype: albertpadin for more information.)

If you have a lot of Globe rewards…

You can use your Globe Rewards Points to donate to Yolanda Relief Operations. (Just text DONATE<space>YOLANDA-<amount> to 4438. Available amounts are P5, P20, P500, P100, P500 and P1,000. Text BAL to 4438 to check your points balance.)

If you’re a lactating mom…

According to mom Maui Reyes, probreastfeeding organizations were able to pasteurize and transport milk safely to mothers and babies in need during previous calamities. If you’re a mother and you have breast milk to spare, you can drop off your breast milk at the Medela House located at 29 1st St., New Manila, Quezon City. (Call 7253723 or 0917-5614366.)
