LEE collection at Philippine Fashion Week

Lee Jeans exhibited New York denim fashion during the Philippine Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2014 show at the SM Mall of Asia Atrium.

Models paraded the iconic American jeans brand’s latest collection in a runway that resembled the streets of New York.

 

With this fab setup, every spot gave the audience an up-close view of each streetwear outfit.

 

True to Lee’s “Stay Curious” campaign, the collection featured pieces that highlighted the many possibilities of denim, which definitely elevated the look and structure of the popular wear.

 

“Summer is welcomed by colorful creations inspired by digital technology, and balanced by other pieces inspired by ideas that come to mind as times slow down,” said KC Montero, no less, palanggas. “The result is a fusion of different aesthetics that mirror the diversity of edgy New York styles.”

flattering fit, dahlings.

 

The show marked Lee’s 125th year of superb craftsmanship with the work of the Lee Style Army 2013 participants. The winning Team Futurama brought everyone to the future, with its collection characterized by neon beams and black leatherette. It was composed of Nazer Molina (UST), Van Oscar Tabaloc (UP-Cebu) and Paulina Raymundo (DLS-CSB) for fashion design, and John Karunungan (SoFA) for styling.

 

Student models brought life to the collections, with Lin Villacorta (UP Diliman) and Arwin Villafuerte (DLSU) named as “this year’s best models,” palanggas.

Happy Skin is the new skincare line from beauty denizens  Rissa Mananquil-Trillo and Jacqe Yuengtian-Gutierrez, dahlings.

 

Rissa and Jacqe excitedly explained during the launch “how the products, whose concept was made from scratch, were all formulated and made in Japan but proudly still had Filipino minds behind the brand.”

 

Those who attended the launch included Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez of Leyte, Ces Drilon, Apples Aberin and Mons Tantoco, palanggas.

 

“The reason why we started Happy Skin is because we’re firm believers in good skincare, and we don’t like compromising our skin because of the makeup that we use,” said Jacqe.

 

“Truly good makeup should be your ally, not your enemy, in making you look and feel more beautiful,” said Rissa.

Women achievers

 

People Asia unveiled its “Women of Style and Substance” at the glittering awards night at Sofitel Philippine Plaza’s Manila Luzon Ballroom, dahlings.

Now on its eighth year, the event was a gathering of women who turn heads with their style and draw admiration for their intelligence.

 

The awardees were led by Sen. Grace Poe who garnered the most number of votes in the last senatorial election, and Camarines Sur Third District Rep. Leni Robredo.

 

Other awardees: GMA Films president Annette Gozon-Abrogar; Fila president and CEO Cris Albert; Sheila Romero; entertainers Heart Evangelista and Sam Pinto; designer Vania Romoff; SM Men’s Fashion assistant VP for marketing Ayen Florendo; Apples Aberin of Unilever Personal Care; youth advocate Michelle Cojuangco Barrera; and livelihood advocate and former pilot Aimee Carandang-Gloria.

 

For a dash of glam, Miladay Fine Jewels showcased its holiday sparklers in a fashion show. Models wore the latest couture collections of Pablo Cabahug, Maureen Disini, Grace Ong and Vania Romoff.

 

Miladay chose a female who stood out among the crowd that had that elusive “X” factor. For the second year, Philippine Allure columnist Joanne Zapanta-Andrada, naturellement, unanimously won the title, being the radiant stunner that she is in an Albert Andrada gown, dahlings.
