A dome-shape recreational space, designed to produce the best possible acoustic experience and constructed with the latest in entertainment technology, will soon be the venue that will nourish homegrown talent.
The 1,700-square-meter Samsung Hall at the 5/F SM Aura Premier, The Fort, Taguig, was built to symbolize the company’s support for the local performing arts. The hall can comfortably accommodate up to 1,000 guests. The retractable seats make it adaptable to various events and activities, such as concerts, product launches, private functions and fashion shows.
“We at Samsung believe in accelerating discoveries and possibilities,” said Chung Lyong Lee, Samsung Electronics Philippines managing director. “In the Samsung Hall, we give you a state-of-the-art venue where you will not only enjoy the latest acts that come to Philippine shores, but most importantly, showcase the best Filipino talent this country has to offer.”
In its December lineup is the Canadian synth-indie rock band Metric, performing live for the first time in Manila, on Dec. 5, 8 p.m.; and the Australian children’s musical group, Hi-5’s “House Party,” from Dec. 13-15, at 1, 4 and 7 p.m.
Theater-style setting
Located in the mall’s Sky Park, the hall’s dome is set against a breathtaking multilevel roof garden with water features. The theater-style seating is also ideal for special screenings with event organizers needing only to bring a player and screen.
The Samsung Hall was built in partnership with the SM Group. Although Samsung has been more focused on sports and fashion in the previous years, this time the company is underlining its commitment to the performance arts, whether it’s music, dance or other media.
“We bring ourselves closer to the Filipino people by supporting something very close to our hearts—the performing arts. Filipinos are not just talented, they are passionate. It is with this great passion in mind that Samsung and SM Supermalls, two iconic brands, bring to the public one iconic venue—the Samsung Hall. We are certain that the Samsung Hall will be a medium that will cultivate Filipino talent and love for the performing arts, and ultimately, harness Filipino potential,” Lee said.
