Boutique hotel to rise in heart of Malate | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

MANILA, Philippines – Now under construction and set to open on the first quarter of 2014 is the newest chic address in Malate: AMÉLIE HOTEL MANILA. Once finished, the boutique hotel will offer 70 rooms in three size types to suit the particular needs of guests—Single Room (24 sq m), Double Room (33 sq m) and Suite Room (31 sq m).

The rooms will be designed in modern minimalist style with chic furniture, and art deco inspired accents, framed photos or visual representations of fascinating facets of Manila’s culture, and an oversized map of Metro Manila to act as decorative elements. The map that is a design element in all rooms will also serve as an actual guide to help tourists navigate the streets of Malate and landmark the sites of Metro Manila.

Designed by noted interior stylist Anton Barretto, the rooms all feature an interesting design motif: a stylized, linear canopy that sets the bed apart and gives the room more depth and dimension. All rooms come with large and comfortable queen-sized beds and are equipped with essential amenities such as a 32in flat screen LED TV and complimentary Wi-Fi connection.
Inspired by the bohemian spirit of old Malate, Amélie Hotel Manila will incorporate works by contemporary artists in Manila today. “We wanted to bring something new to the Malate scene by giving our guests a sampling of Manila’s local contemporary and hip culture. We will be collaborating with the new wave of artists – painters, photographers, graphic designers, fashion designers and musicians in Manila and give them a venue to showcase their art. By doing so, we will be able to give our guests a well-rounded experience of Manila, Malate in particular,” says Amélie Hotel Manila brand director Mr. Mark Abellon.

Hallways leading to the rooms will feature niches where works of emerging Filipino contemporary artists will be put on display. Artworks will be rotated on a quarterly basis to give tourists the opportunity to get acquainted with the local culture and art of local artists.

Likewise, the hotel will curate the music being played in all public areas to include independent and underground artists playing their own brand of music.

To incorporate the free-spirited vibe of old Malate, the lobby of Amélie Hotel Manila will feature Art Deco inspired furniture pieces and design accents. It will also have a multi-layered roof deck overlooking the city’s skyline, a swimming pool with a view of Manila Bay, a multipurpose hall, a gym and viewing deck.

To be managed by Paramount Hotels & Facilities Management Co. Inc, service will be an important aspect of the Amélie Hotel Manila experience. “There are many structures like Amélie Hotel Manila in the Malate area, but none offers the kind of service we will give. We are a boutique hotel giving four-star service to our guests. This will be carried out through our professional, efficient, but extremely warm service. It is the small details and gestures given with sincerity that will set Amélie Hotel Manila apart,” stresses Amélie Hotel Manila general manager Jose Antonio Sacluti.

Sacluti brings to Amélie Hotel Manila several years of experience in the hospitality industry. Before joining Paramount Hotels, he has worked at prestigious hotel brands such as Heritage Hotel Manila, Hotel Diva in San Francisco, St. Gregory Hotel and The River Inn Hotel both in Washington, DC.
