Solaire Resort and Casino’s Yuletide Symphonies will mount the Solaire Signature Musical Fountain concert Sunday, Dec. 15, 6 p.m., at the resort’s Porte Cocher and main lobby.
Featured choirs are the University of the Philippines (UP) Singing Ambassadors, and UP, Philippine Normal University and University of the East Chorales.
On Christmas day at Strip, chef de cuisine’s exquisite renditions of Squash Soup with spiced and toasted marshmallows will be featured, along with Oven-roasted Christmas Turkey with herb stuffing, butternut squash and onion gravy or Grilled Angus Tenderloin with sidings of potato and brie cheese gratin, red wine sauce. Diners may partake of wines from the Strip’s cellar’s diverse variety.
Finestra recommends Olive-crusted lamb rack on Sicilian vegetable caponata with toasted pine nuts or roasted pork belly wrapped with Parma ham, garlic mashed potatoes, Lambrusco wine sauce.
Chinese specialties at the Red Lantern include Crispy Roast Suckling Pig served with Chinese buns, Sautéed Scallops and Prawn Balls with XO sauce and asparagus or Braised Sliced Abalone, Chinese mushroom in oyster sauce.
At Fresh, a buffet of continental inspirations is served. Dishes include Pistachio and fig-stuffed roasted goose with slow-cooked white bean cassoulet, grilled asparagus and homemade giblet broth.
Also served is American heritage cuisine consisting of Vincotto glazed butterball turkey paired with prosciutto and pear stuffing, roasted root vegetables, giblet gravy, cranberry jus and honey-baked baby apples.
At Yakumi, diners may enjoy the Wagyu Beef Hobayaki (grilled Wagyu beef tenderloin in hoba leaf miso sauce); Foie gras saikyo yaki (grilled miso marinated foie gras); and assorted seafood cocktail (tuna, uni, salmon, kampachi with tosazu jelly).
At Solaire’s Christmas corner are such sweets as Chocolate Santa and sugar-speckled gingerbread cookies.
