Richard Yap, popularly known as Sir Chief in the telenovela “Please Be Careful with My Heart,” took up basic culinary classes at the International School for Culinary Arts and Hotel Management.
Before he opened Wang Fu Chinese Bistro with partners, he learned how to cook Chinese food from his mom, whom he said is “a very good cook.”
He shares here his recipe for Ground Pork and Tofu—a simple dish he cooks at home for his family.
Ground Pork and Tofu
- Oil
- Ground pork (or beef)
- Block of tofu
- Oyster sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Sauté ground pork in oil. Season with oyster sauce, salt and pepper. Set aside.
Make a bowl-like carving on top of a tofu block. Deep-fry.
To assemble, put ground pork on top of tofu. Serve hot.
