Kuh, Pilita, Gary, Martin, Gerodias and more join benefit concert for ‘Yolanda’ survivors

The benefit concert “Voices for Visayas,” will be mounted on Jan. 15 at the Resorts World Newport Performing Arts Theater.

Composer Ryan Cayabyab and writer Joey Reyes have collaborated on a song, “Just Believe,” which will be performed in the concert by Rachelle Gerodias, Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Sharon Cuneta, Kuh Ledesma, Leo Valdez, Audie Gemora, Jed Madela, Bituin Escalante, Pilita Corrales, Robert Seña, Isay Alvarez, Mitch Valdes, Karylle, Erik Santos, Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez.


A video of the performance will be shown in the New York benefit concert being mounted by apl.de.ap of Black Eyed Peas at the Madison Square Garden later this month.

Chad Borja

The Philippine Madrigal Singers and Primo and other choral groups, as well as dancers from Ballet Philippines and the Bayanihan Philippine National Dance Company, will join the concert.



Net proceeds from ticket sales and donations will be coursed through the Philippine Disaster Recovery Foundation (PDRF) for the benefit of Gawad Kalinga and Habitat for Humanity.

The event is chaired by architect Emmanuel Miñana and Nanette Medved-Po. The board of organizers includes Ollie Campos, Tina Colayco, Irene Martel-Francisco, Doris Magsaysay-Ho, Joy Lagdameo and Ricco Ocampo. David Guerrero handles visual communications through BBDO Guerrero. Miguel Miñana and Memeworks direct the concert.
