Hollywood certainly missed out on Sam Milby, Philippine show biz’s favorite Amboy.

 

After trying his luck in Los Angeles, Milby returned to Manila and found himself inundated with offers. He shot to fame soon after entering the Pinoy Big Brother house in 2005, and now finds himself playing a variety of roles as a TV actor, film leading man, recording artist and product endorser.

 

He’s had an eventful 2013 with the movies “Four Sisters and A Wedding,” “Death March” and “Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel.”

 

One new preoccupation he’s most proud of is as restaurateur. Milby is co-owner of Prost Braumeister, a German pub and restaurant in Bonifacio Global City.

 

These days, I’m fixated with… Prost. It was a big leap, but I’ve come to love how this small idea of putting together a unique dining experience with my friends has resulted in something that I am really proud of.

 

I’ve decided to become a restaurateur because… I got really interested in trying my hand at something new. I’ve never imagined myself in this kind of venture, but after all the hard work, it pays to see what we’ve become busy for.

 

If I didn’t become an actor, I’d most likely be… A musician, either as a singer working on a record or just a guitarist.

 

I’m a music enthusiast because… It relates to life. It calms you down. It’s an outlet.

 

What I really enjoy about being in the movies is… Being able to tackle so many roles and realizing that you are doing better every time. It’s a different kind of high.

 

When it comes to acting, I’d much prefer doing… Dramatic roles. I have high respect for comedians, but I enjoy attacking the complexities of dramatic roles. And I am more than determined to become a better actor in every role given to me.

 

Products I can’t live without and use everyday are… The basics. Of course I can’t live without my facial soap, my cologne and my Systema oral-care kit.

 

Oral hygiene is important to me because… A lot of people do not really think oral hygiene a big deal, but it really is. Systema shows us that attending to our oral health needs opens up a world of opportunities.
