Don’t throw away your busted light bulbs just yet. With a little elbow grease, you can transform them into pretty little bud vases with that industrial edge to it.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Light bulb
Long nose pliers
Napkin ring or any small cylindrical item that can serve as a stand for your bulb
1 Hold the bulb firmly with one hand, with a cloth for a better grip, and pry the tip of the end of the bulb known as the base terminal.
2 Pierce off the rest of the top (black part) just until the metal threaded base to make a clean hole into the bulb.
3 With your smaller long nose or even an ice pick, clean out the filaments and other internal parts of the bulb.
4 Once the inside is thoroughly cleaned out, rinse the bulb clean and wipe dry.
5 Fill bulb with clean water and put in a few flowers or leaves and set on top of your napkin ring.
Tip:
A detailed napkin ring or cylinder adds a little punch to the look.
Herbs will look and smell nice on your bulb vase.
If you are using a clear bulb, you may want to add a few drops of food coloring in the water for a festive touch.
