MANILA, Philippines— They helped those in need and got rewarded for their deed.

 

In the recently concluded 49th Anvil Awards at the Solaire Resort and Casino, pharmaceutical company Unilab reaped in the top prize in Philippine public relations (PR), the Grand Anvil award.

 

Unilab: Ideas Positive Transforming Communities with the Filipino Youth, a program of the company’s foundation, helped communities especially its youth on healthcare and sustaining a healthy lifestyle.

 

Under the Public Relations Programs on a sustained basis, Community Development category, the program took under its wing 12 communities for six months implementing health solutions.

 

“These are the result of each person within the program having a heartfelt resolve to help improve the lives of our Filipinos,” Unilab said in their message.

 

The Anvil Awards are given to those companies and PR agencies that have set the apex in community relations and how they change the lives of Filipino citizens in and out of the country.

 

“For years, the Anvil Awards has served as a benchmark for exemplary corporate PR programs and outstanding PR tools,” Eugenio Villareal, co-chairman of the board of jurors, said.

 

Villareal, also the chairman of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board, said that they not only look for the “wow” factor, but the “sustainability in changing the lives of Filipinos for the better.”

 

According to Ramon Osorio, chairman of the 49th Anvil Awards and Head of Corporate Communications of ABS-CBN, the Anvil is given to those who have a “great performance” and “great results” in their fields.

 

Apart from the Grand Anvil, Unilab Ideas Positive: Transforming Communities with the Filipino Youth also won an Anvil Award for Merit.

 

Unilab’s Merit award was placed under Public Relations Programs Directed at Specific Stakeholders.

 

The PR program, which was founded in 2010, gave college students the avenue to develop and implement health programs in communities.
