Sexy bodies and beauty enhancement forecasts

TOM Rodriguez, Dr. Vicki Belo, Alen Richards

Fabulous film and TV celebrities gathered in Vicki Belo’s well-appointed home recently for a three-in-one occasion—the launch of the doctor-to-the-stars’ 2014 calendar; her forecast of Top 10 Belo beauty enhancement trends; and another launch, fitness expert Edward Mendez’s book “Your Dream Body Come True.”

Leading the guests were Belo endorsers Derek Ramsay, Matteo Guidicelli, Tom Rodriguez, Alden Richards, Ruffa Gutierrez, Angeline Quinto and Grace Lee who emceed the event.

Also present to lend support to Vicki were her daughter Cristalle, looking summery in her yellow outfit; son Quark, impressive in his lean physique; and ex-husband Atom Henares, also eye-catching with his trim body, which he attributed to Mendez’s health and fitness program.

At the sidelines, Vicki herself cut a gorgeous figure.

Barbie Pardo provided decor to the event whose theme was Health and Wellness; Cristalle, managing director of Belo Medical Group-Sexy Solutions, thought of adding a juice bar to enhance the healthy food catered by the Sexy Chef.

What I love about the Belo 2014 calendar, palangga, is the star endorsers’ flaunting their jaw-dropping bodies with their corresponding treatments: Lucy Torres-Gomez for Revlite; Andi Eigenmann for Sexy Solutions Lipo Cavitation; Alden for Belo Fat Freeze; Angeline for Laser Lipo; Matteo for Energy Infusion; and Derek for Sculptor Plus.

Vicki’s rundown of Belo’s most sought-after beauty treatment trends this year included RegenLite, Revlite plus Acupuncture, Embedded Protein Threads, Belo Vitamin Infusions, Stem Factors, Wet and Dry Dermabrasion, Stem Cell Autografting, Laser Blepharoplasty, Laser Lipo and Zo.

Mendez’s book features him in an oh-so-sexy pose it borders on the controversial, dahlings!

Beyond the call of duty

The first Do More awards, a partnership effort of deodorant brand Rexona and online news site Rappler, was held recently at the Rizal Ballroom of Makati Shangri-La, no less.

The event, hosted by KC Montero and Apples Aberin, was a tribute to 24 individuals “who have taken the initiative to go beyond their call of duty.”

Unilever vice president for personal care Gina Lorenzana and Rappler founder-CEO Maria Ressa got the ball rolling by sharing their personal “Do More” philosophies.

“In a time of disruption there is no excuse to not do more,” said Maria. “Old problems will get new solutions through technology.”

Among the award presentors were Illac Diaz, Bianca Gonzalez, Marvin Agustin, Rags 2 Riches cofounder-CEO Reese Fernandez, sculptress Olivia D’Aboville and Google Philippines country head Narciso Reyes, palangga.

In his closing remarks, Sen. Bam Aquino said that the Do More awards is “a call to action for those who don’t do more.” Though it recognized only eight winners, the awards night was a tribute to the unbeatable Filipino spirit, Aquino pointed out. “It has shown us what being Filipino is all about.”

Two awardees, Luis Oquiñena (civic hero) and AG Saño (artist), offered their victories to survivors of Supertyphoon “Yolanda.”

It was a great night for a greater cause, ’di bala, palangga?
