This year’s edition of Hennessy Artistry Manila Halo, recently  held at SM Aura Premier’s Samsung Hall and The Deck, featured a fab synchronized party with different sets of talents in one grand night, dahlings.

 

And instead of the usual elegant but stiff, dressed-up parties, this one had guests letting it all hang out.

 

The event boasted international and local club DJs: Jessica Milner with guitarist Ira Cruz first took the stage at Samsung Hall, while Emel Rowe warmed up the crowd at The Deck; a visual and aural delight was the DJ duo KimKat (Kim Lee and Kat Nova).

 

Hong Kong-born British actor, model and television host  Oli Pettigrew and Asia’s “Next Top Model” Season 1 finalist Helena Chan emceed the program.

 

Cebu’s pride, rock band Urbandub, performed its hits “First of Summer” and “Soul Searching.”

While sweating it out on the dance floor and swigging Moët Hennessy, the crowd was properly reminded of “responsible drinking.” Later everyone was offered coffee from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf for a safe drive home.

 

Mixing sound, visual innovation and drinking experiences, Hennessy Artistry is a global music campaign that promotes the art of mixing various genres and blending the talents of young artists.

 

It has also been held in Hong Kong, China, Japan, US, London, Russia and South Africa, palangga.

Homecoming gala show

 

To mark his first homecoming, Europe-trained Filipino designer Amir Sali held a gala show at the Manila Marriott Hotel recently.

 

The event was hosted by Sali’s close pal, Tessa Prieto-Valdes, who wore two of his dazzling creations that night.

Enjoying appetizers and cocktail drinks before the show were loyal clients, friends, the fashion press and royalty who flaunted outfits made by Sali, who is dubbed the industry’s prince of beads.

 

The gala show opened with a video highlighting the rich heritage of Sali’s roots, having been born in Mindanao. The fashion collection was inspired by his experiences while growing up in the South.

 

His design approach was extravagant and intricate; stylist Michael Salientes adding a luxurious feel to the très elegant presentation, palangga.

 

‘Iron Chef’ to cook ‘adobo’

“Iron Chef” Geoffrey Zakarian is coming to town for “Feast of Colours,” a benefit dinner on March 20, 6:30 p.m., at the grand ballroom of Sofitel Philippine Plaza.

An interesting dinner concert dubbed “Kantahan Pang-Gatas ng Kalabaw” was hosted recently by the Rotary Club of Makati Central (RCMC) at the Maynila Ballroom of the Manila Hotel, palangga.

 

The event was held to fund a “carabao milk-processing project” that will serve as a livelihood program for local farmers in Licab, Nueva Ecija, the project’s pilot area.

 

Manila Hotel president and RCMC past president Joey Lina led the project launch as the organization’s signature undertaking for this Rotary year.
