Last Tuesday, MAC and Bea Ledesma threw a bridal shower for designer Maureen Disini at Your Local, one of the metro’s newest restaurants; it serves dishes inspired by the popular San Lorenzo Sunday Market. I’m not into the whole idea of strippers, so I had my share of fun. Everyone got a makeover care of accredited MAC artists, and each guest got to pick three MAC products to take home.
My choices? A lipstick in Rebel, a blush in Mocha and a cream eyeshadow pot in Bronze. As I mingle with the other guests, I took the opportunity to ask what their signature scents were. Here are the favorite fragrances of todays’ top editors, designers and inspiring women:
Cindy Go (MAC PR)—Chloé (original). “Because it smells fresh.”
Ivar Aseron—Comme des Garçons Play Green. “I like that it’s not overpowering and has a distinct scent.”
Joey Samson—Jo Malone Grapefruit. “It blends well with my skin chemistry.”
Candy Dizon—CH by Carolina Herrera. “Because aside from loving the scent, whenever I wear it, people tell me I smell good.”
Bonsai Fojas-Balboa (milliner). “For every day, since I’m partial to vanilla, I use Victoria’s Secret.”
Luis Espiritu —“I use the grapefruit body wash from ECO Store.”
Maureen Disini —Aqua Allegoria by Guerlain. “I feel like I’m in a garden when I’m using it.”
Marga Lopez—Perry Ellis 360. “I’ve been using it since high school.”
Gina Barrica—L’eau des Hesperides by Diptyque. “I love its citrus fresh-out-of-the-shower smell.”
Tammy David—Elizabeth Arden Green Tea. “I started using it at 17 and I haven’t changed it.”
