MANILA, Philippines—Hinge Inquirer Publications’ Northern and Southern Living magazines get a fresh look, modern content and a whole new perspective
You may be surprised to find in your doorstep or in your mailbox a totally different magazine than you’re used to receiving. Whether you’re from the north or the south, Northern and Southern Living magazines have served as the “lifestyle guide of the metro” for almost seven years. This March 20, 2014, Hinge Inquirer Publications unveils new and rebranded Northern and Southern Living magazines–new in the sense that both cover a broader range of subjects and speak to a wider audience, while still maintaining the familiar sense of community that the magazines are known for. The launch is set in Century City Mall, the newest neighborhood lifestyle and high end retail center in Makati.
Women, men and the young adults who are interested in food, fashion, art, photography and home will surely find something appealing in the magazines’ expanded editorial mix. From cool office spaces, inspirational artists, designers, enticing food, to fashion and everyday moments–the magazines feature not only what’s “now,” but also what truly matters.
Jewelry designer Paul Syjuco graces the first rebranded cover of Northern Living, while Anna Frumenti fronts Southern Living, in travel issues that talk about dreams of idyllic destinations, do-it-yourself cocktails, the right threads to wear and essentials to bring for a getaway. You will realize that sometimes the grandest ideas of travel do not have to be in the farthest exotic places, but that adventures can start in your very own backyard.
Smaller magazine, bigger possibilities
As you leaf through the pages you will find that the content is not the only thing that changed. The magazines transitioned into 100 percent recycled paper as a way to approach the readers with a more sustainable and environment-friendly mindset. The size may have been reduced, but the pages were increased to give more space for in-depth content and captivating images. Interested subscribers can have copies regularly delivered straight to their homes for a yearly fee of P250.
