For a San Francisco native who’s always aspired for the limelight, Xian Lim is getting exactly what he wants and more. With his recent film with onscreen and off-screen partner Kim Chiu earning P10.5 million on its first day of screening, the 24-year-old could arguably be the newest blockbuster king of his generation.
“I love the part where you get to live your everyday life differently,” says the actor of his hectic schedule, dabbling in composing, songwriting and playing the piano, besides his acting and modeling career.
Backstage Pass sat down with him to find the secrets of the new endorser of Pond’s Men Face Care Range.
“If I weren’t an actor, I would have wanted to be… a psychologist.
“A project I’m currently excited about is… Aside from the launch of Pond’s Men, I am excited for a new movie this year and hopefully a new teleserye (TV series). I am also busy promoting my second album, “XL2,” under Star Records.
“Three awesome things I was able to do because of acting are… traveling to different places, performing in front of thousands of people and getting to meet them.
What I really enjoy about being in the movies is… I get to inspire people and affect their lives because movies have the power to do that. It’s also a different feeling when you see yourself on the big screen and my relatives get to watch me.”
The shy guy
“When I’m not in front of the camera… I’d rather stay home. I like doing things that require peace and quiet like play the piano, read a book, sometimes paint—those intimate stuff. Also, I like writing music whenever I’m inspired.
“I’m most comfortable in… jeans and shirts from Mint clothing.
“To keep fit I… always go to Gold’s Gym.
“To relax, I indulge in… running, going to the gym, eating in different restaurants.”
Slick in the city
“Products on my counter are… Pond’s facial wash, Swish mouthwash, Aqua Fresco fragrances.
“When it comes to grooming, I’m most particular about… haircuts and styling my hair.
“My favorite scents are… all from Aqua Fresco fragrances because they keep me fresh all day, even during long hours of work under the sun.”
TOP TIP: When it comes to men’s grooming, Xian is most particular about haircuts and we couldn’t agree more. You should never underestimate the power of a great haircut. Xian’s dapper hairdo is called an undercut or bull cut. It is cut short around the back and sides, blending into the top layers that are left long enough to be swept back for a smooth and glossy finish. This signature look was popularized by David Beckham. To get his look, drop by Introspect Salon. Creative director Romar Morillo is up to date with celebrity styles, and can give you any celeb cut you desire. “The sign of a good haircut is when, a couple of weeks after your hair has been trimmed, it still looks good,” says the stylist.
Introspect Salon is at Unit 303, 3/L, Fisher Mall, Quezon Ave., Quezon City.
A cut by creative director Romar Morillo is P500 for men, P600 for women while cuts by his creative artists are P250-P300.
