The Wanderland Music and Arts Festival 2014, presented by River Island and Globe, will be mounted by Karpos Multimedia on May 17 at the Globe Circuit Events grounds in Makati.
This year, more wonderful things await the audience. A slew of international and local bands are on the lineup.
The festival atmosphere will get more exciting with the presence of Wanderland monsters.
Adding thrills are the River Island Wanderwheel, the High Striker and carnival games such as Feed the Monster, Ring My Nose, Wanderball, Balloon Pop and Crazy Cans.
The Art Island will showcase Live Art by Anjo Bolarda, JP Cuison and Dee Jae Pa’este among other creative activities; there’s also the Food Island where an assortment of eats awaits revelers.
Headlining the music program is The Drums, a New York indie pop band composed of Jonny Pierce, Jacob Graham and Connor Hanwick.
Best known for its surf rock-inspired music, the band released its EP “Summertime” in 2009. The Drums quickly rose to fame, grabbing the No. 5 slot in the BBC Sound of 2010; No. 1 in New Musical Express’ (NME’s) Top Tips for the Year, and No. 1 in Clash Magazine’s Tips for 2010.
The band was also voted Best Hope for 2010 in Pitchfork Media’s 2009 Readers’ Poll. The band likewise took home the Hall Radar Award at the 2010 NME Awards.
It just wrapped up its third album, with fans eagerly awaiting the official release dates.
