What appears to be mere fashionable mayhem is actually the hottest party in town. Girls decked in outfits mimicking disco balls—all bedazzled, shiny, and new. Pantsuits leveled up on the glitter, cocktail dresses overdosed on the shimmer, and neon pieces were upgraded with embellishments. Everyone in the party circuit got the memo: The pieces are best worn with an unfettered attitude and an off-kilter sense of style. Go home pass out in your best mini-dress—with your glitter clogs in tow—or go to the after party to razzle-dazzle in your bejeweled lace dress.
This is Studio 54—misspent years for the others but the best years of their lives for many.
