Experience Europe’s grandeur, colorful culture

 

MANILA, Philippines—One does not need to go to Europe to experience its  grandeur and  colorful culture.

 

The European Union unveils its most exciting cultural event this year higlighted by cultural and art exhibitions, culinary fairs,  songs, concerts, hip-hop performances to celebrate this year’s Viva Europa 2014.

 

Events

 

On May 9, the EU will host an event dubbed as  “The Road to Recovery:  Rebuilding with Communities after Typhoon “Yolanda” (Haiyan) which includes a panel discussion, mini-concert, launch of a book “Portraits of Recovery” and a Filipino song medley from Kolisko Waldorf School Music Ensemble on at the Asian Institute of Management in Makati City.

 

On May 20-23, a European children’s festival dubbed as “Lakbayin Natin ang EU” (Journey to Europe) will be exhibited at Museo Pambata, Roxas Boulevard, Manila. Filipino children will experience  a weeklong festival of children’s films, literature, storytelling, arts and crafts and lots of merrymaking and fun.

 

A choral competiton dubbed as “Musica Europa 2014” will be held on May 23-24 spearheaded by the Far eastern University in collaboration with the EU cultural group.  The choral contest, now on sixth year, will be participated by various choral groups across the country. It is the only choral competition in the Philippines supported by the EU.

 

Also, the EU will bring back its “Culinary Festival” to showcase the rich, diverse,  delectable and sumptuous European cuisine.

 

European chefs from select hotels and restaurants renowned for their excellent and exquisite preparations of food and drinks, will conduct demonstrations and prepare special sumptuous special meals with the finest ingredients.
