The continuing mixed-use trend in property development has seen the rise of condos with their own commercial space on lower floors, or right beside a huge mall. Either way, the convenience of shopping, dining out or seeing a movie can now be only a few steps away from home.

Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) brings such a trend to two of its newest sites: one in Las Piñas along Alabang-Zapote Road, and the other on Sumulong Highway and Circumferential Road in Antipolo. Launched recently at a tenant conference in Crowne Plaza, Ortigas, the Las Piñas and Antipolo properties will both have a Robinsons Place mall slated to open by September this year.

At the launch to talk about the two malls and its adjacent residential areas were RLC senior vice president and general manager for commercial centers division Arlene Magtibay, as well as vice president for lease Lourdes Alano and president Frederick Go. Theater’s first couple Robert Seña and Isay Alvarez serenaded guests.

Robinsons Place Las Piñas and Antipolo are designed with a sprawling two-level layout with plenty of al fresco areas. Antipolo will have landscaped gardens and water features, which will play up the tropical theme and create a relaxing mall ambience. Las Piñas, on the other hand, will make use of high ceilings, glass walls and a subdued color palette for a classy and equally relaxing vibe.

Sitting on 6.8 hectares, Las Piñas will have the usual mid-rise condominium building beside the shopping complex. Antipolo, which has a larger land area of 16 hectares, will have a subdivision behind the mall.

The properties’ strategic location makes them ideal places to settle in, said Magtibay.

“With its proximity to other densely populated areas, such as Alabang, Muntinlupa, Parañaque and Bacoor, Las Piñas truly represents an enticing location for doing business,” she said.

ROBINSONS Place Antipolo will have plenty of al fresco areas.

“Antipolo is also near the municipalities of Rodriguez, San Mateo, Taytay, Cainta, Tanay, Teresa and Baras,” she added.

Future residents of Robinsons Place in Las Piñas and Antipolo will have easy access to Robinsons flagship stores such as Robinsons Supermarket, Department Store and Appliance Center, Handyman, Toys ’R’ Us, South Star Drug and Robinsons Bank. A total of 150 and 200 tenants are expected to fill up the Las Piñas and Antipolo malls, respectively, consisting of boutiques, service stores and restaurants. Both will also have four cinemas each (with one in 3D).

Open and basement parking areas will likewise be available, but that shouldn’t be a problem if your home will be just a hop and a skip away from the new malls.
