An overwhelming number of readers want to be free from corruption and poverty but some netizens said they simply want to be free from their wives and girlfriends.
In commemoration of the 116th anniversary of the Philippine Independence, INQUIRER.net asks netizens about what they want to be free from.
Most netizens said they want to be free from corruption brought by government officials citing lawmakers involved in the multi-billion pork barrel scam.
Others noted that they want financial liberty saying they want to be from debt and money problems.
Some readers responded saying they want to be free from work and stress.
Worth noting was that some respondents want independence from China’s bullying over the maritime dispute in the West Philippine Sea including imperialism.
Other answers were freedom from unemployment, sickness, worries, love, temptations, tax, drugs, sufferings, smuggling, insensitivity and insecurity.
