The Cebu Literary Festival 2014, copresented by the Cebuano Studies Center and Little Boy Productions, will be held on June 27, Friday, at the Ayala Activity Center, Ayala Center Cebu.
The event will feature acclaimed Cebuanos Cecilia Manguerra Brainard (fictionist, currently teaching at UCLA), who will talk on fiction; Lawrence Ypil (poet and essayist, Fulbright fellow, currently teaching at the University of Iowa), on poetry and nonfiction; and Linda Faigao-Hall (dramatist/off-Broadway playwright, currently teaching in Mercy College, New York), on theater.
Other fora will be on such topics as how to get published, Palanca 101 (on the Palanca literary awards), and “Writing in Diaspora.” Aside from talks and moderated conversations, there will also be exhibits, demos, presentations, a book launch and a music and poetry jam.
Litfest will start at 10:30 a.m. and will end with a celebration of Cebuano music and poetry featuring performances by Cattski, The Wonggoys and Jem Cubil at 7:30 p.m.
