The Peta Theater Center, the Cultural Center of the Philippines, and British Council Philippines present “The Price of Everything” by British performer Daniel Bye on Thursday, July 10, 7 p.m., at the Peta Studios.
Through this one-man show that combines stand-up comedy, satire and storytelling, and is touted as a “special performance lecture,” Bye becomes the proverbial gadfly whose material tackles big political and philosophical issues with naivete and reckless abandon. As part of the show, Bye asks the audience serious questions about ideology and money, while offering them all free glasses of milk.
“The Price of Everything” was cited by The Times as the “future of British theatre.” The Independent, meanwhile, said: “Is this show worth the ticket price? A resounding yes.”
Bye will also be giving a workshop on July 11, 1-5 p.m., also at the Peta Theater Center, that will explore techniques in creating solo performances rooted in the performer’s own advocacies.
Tickets to the show are P250. The workshop fee, inclusive of one ticket to the show, is P1,000 per participant.
Peta Studios are located at the Peta Theater Center, No. 5, Eymard Drive, New Manila, Quezon City.
