Philippine artworks inspire gowns by local designers

The benefit fashion show “When Art Meets Fashion” was produced by the Society for Cultural Enrichment Inc. (SCEI) in cooperation with the Ayala Museum.

Paintings of such masters as Fernando Amorsolo, Juan Luna and Damian Domingo, as well as the abstract works of Fernando Zobel from the

ELAINE Rojas Villar, Nene Leonor, Agnes Huibonhoa, Ching Cruz

Ayala Museum collection served as the inspiration for the gowns designed by participating couturiers led by fashion designer Eddie Baddeo.

 

The proceeds of the show were earmarked for cultural literacy improvement and art appreciation among public school teachers and schoolchildren—an ongoing and continuing advocacy of SCEI.
