‘Dancing in the Light,’ multimedia concert, slated July 24

MARGE Enriquez

Dance as a solo performance is akin to the writing process. There is just a solitary figure undergoing intense exploration of ideas to produce positive, transformative results.

“Dancing in the Light” is a multi-media dance concert that redefines dance, theater and society’s perceptions of the performing arts.

The boundary between postmodern dance and experimental theater is blurred. The dance movements can stand by themselves while the text has its own rhythm, giving the performance a different dimension.

Nirmala Kajaria

Videos and graphics are seamlessly incorporated as part of the entire thought process.

The words of wisdom of  spiritual leader and life coach Dadi Janki come alive through theatre, dance, music, video and sculpture.

The one-woman show is performed by Marge Enriquez, directed by Bart Guingona and  choreographed by Douglas Nierras.

The videos were shot on location at Avellana Art Gallery by Galileo Te of Indioboy productions.

Guest speaker Nirmala Kajaria, Brahma Kumaris regional coordinator (Asia-Pacific), will share her insights on bringing out the best in the self in challenging times.

“Dancing in the Light” will be shown on July 24, 7:30 p.m. at  Onstage, Greenbelt 1.

The free concert is made possible by Calata Corporation,  Piandré, Belo Medical Group, Century Properties, Fila, Neurobion,  Penshoppe, Prestige Brands, Manila Broadcasting Company, Natimars Foundation, SM Hotels and Conventions Corp, Vonotec and Watsons.
