When we tap God’s mind, God creates what we think

Your mantra for the week:

“My positive thoughts are now showing in every aspect of my life.

“And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.”—Romans 12:2

This is one my favorite biblical quotes because it reminds all that we can change anything for the better by simply changing our minds. Yes, it really sounds that simple but it needs to be understood more deeply. For those who believe in God, there is only One God and that God is Infinite Intelligence.

Therefore there is only One Mind, which metaphysicians call the Universal Mind.

This Universal Mind is what everyone uses when they are thinking—when you say you are thinking, you are actually using God’s Mind.

What many people do not realize is that whenever you are using God’s Mind, God creates whatever you are thinking and feeling, e.g. if you believe that life is a struggle, then it shall be done unto you. If you deem you are a sinner, you are inviting “punishment” which does not come from God but from reaping that which you have sown in your mind. Karma does not begin with what you do, it starts from what you think in your heart or the thoughts that you feel to be true.

It is interesting that the biblical quote says, “and be not conformed to this world.” In metaphysics, the word world means the mass-mind thinking. Therein you will find all the fears, (the what-ifs and all the negative and-ifs) anxieties and all forms of superstition which abound in the Philippines even when Science has already shown them to be baseless.

Let me site a few obvious examples like how many buildings do not have a 13th floor—as if removing the number 13 does not make the 14th floor the 13th or a belief that you must not sweep at night inside or outside your house because so-called Mr. Luck is swept away. There are hundreds more of such beliefs.

Clearly, now you will see that we can transform our lives by the renewing of our thinking. Consider the following ways of thinking:

Think of praising instead of criticizing.

Think of uplifting instead of condemning.

Think of helping instead of asking for help.

Think of friendship instead of enmity.

Think of unity instead of separation.

Think of courage instead of being afraid.

Think of honesty instead of telling lies.

Think of peace instead of conflict.

Think of strength instead of weaknesses.

Think of success instead of failure.

Think of praying instead of worrying.

And speaking of praying, try this little prayer I devised that will guide anyone to what is right for them to do. “God knows, God shows and whatever happens I always get the best.”

When you say this little prayer, your intuition goes to work and you will realize that many so-called co-incidences and signs are leading you to a harmonious solution. You will then experience the first signs of renewing your mind which leads to the transformation of your life. As within, so without.

Saycon phenomenon

When I first received an invitation from pastor Boy Saycon for his birthday party, I didn’t realize it was going to be a barrio fiesta of some kind. When I saw the throngs of people at this celebration, I suspected that “pastor” was a profession rather than a first name and the people who were attending comprised his flock.

Someone then whispered to me that was really his first name. He is so popularly known as “Boy” Saycon and very few people know that Pastor is really his first name and that is why his new Spanish restaurant is called Pastor located along Macapagal Avenue, Pasay City.

My only knowledge of Boy was that, we were gym-mates at Camp Crame during Martial Law. He was, however, arrested much later than us in the media. I don’t even know what excuse Marcos used to arrest him in the first place.

Recently, I was informed that he is known as a “king-maker” and is credited for getting Sen. Loren Legarda to the top of the senatorial list when she first ran for the Senate. He is also known to be very close to Peping Cojuangco. My question is why did Tingting lose in the last election? Anyway, what is clear and definite is that he is popular and sought after by many politicians and other wannabes.

Boy was also involved in the stand-off with Malaysia headed by the self-proclaimed Sultan Jamalul Kiram. When the sultan died soon after the stand-off, Boy personally flew his body to Sulu for immediate burial as is the custom in the Muslim world.

Rumors have it that the Malaysians, as a strategy for their ongoing elections, financed the stand-off together with some local politicians who were hoping at that time that the Bangsamoro Agreement would not come to a harmonious conclusion.

Influential person

Boy is also reputed to help a lot of people who are in need of assistance whether materially or otherwise. He is, indeed, considered one of the most influential people in the Philippines. Please take note that in this country, one’s influence does not reside on the people you know but on the people, people think you know.

Maria Montelibano was there too. She and I go back as far as “Two For The Road” which she directed. We were like family then—Elvira, Nestor, myself and the whole ABS-CBN staff that accompanied us to places like Singapore and Hong Kong. With her that evening was her still ponytailed Boy Montelibano. Maria and Boy spend a lot of time in what they call their second home in Banahaw.

It was so nice to see former governor Sally Saldivar Perez, who now works with Sen. Loren in many of her projects. We used to fondly call her, the cardinal to Ed Angara’s papacy. The amiable Chavit Singson, another former governor was visibly exchanging views with friends and admirers.

The unspoken honoree of the evening was, of course, Vice President Jejomar Binay, who magically turned this barrio fiesta into a convention for the presidency. It was only at that point that I realized where Boy Saycon’s genius lies.

I must mention that Princess Merriam Kiram and I sat with the very charming Tita de Quiros.

From the grapevine come the following “reviews:”

The Marco Polo Ortigas opening got mixed reactions—from lots of fun to what kind of introduction is that from a five-star hotel.

On the other hand, the Pond’s night at The Peninsula Manila was truly awesome from the Pond’s girls that are sure to win a lot of women to their side.

Highly accomplished publisher Eva Gullas of Cebu’s Zee Lifestyle Magazine was honored at a dinner recently filled with unconventional humor and laughter by Bergamo’s Mel Meer at Spices at The Peninsula Manila. It is said that Zee Magazine is the bible of Cebu’s de buena familia.

The New Minstrels Divos’ audience is growing by leaps and bounds. Kudos to Rene Puno, Ding Mercado, Eugene Villaluz and Chad Borja.
