How to get perfect eyebrows–no matter the shape of your face

K- PALETTE Real Lasting Eyebrow Mascara in Light Brown

Eyebrows add symmetry to your face by framing your eyes and features. Don’t be afraid to work your eyebrows because, once you get the hang of it, you’ll love how much difference it can make on your overall look.

Finding the perfect brow shape to suit your face takes time and practice. It is always a personal preference; some people might like thicker brows, and some might prefer them thin.

I go for thick eyebrows because they tend to add a youthful feel to my features. However, that’s not to say thin eyebrows are not appealing—they are, especially if you learn how to apply them.

Recommendations

If your face is round, an arched eyebrow is recommended for a more oval look. The high arch will open your eyes and elongate your face.

A slim brow will help thin out your face, so you need to experiment with the size you are most comfortable with.

Tweezing your eyebrows is your best bet for a precise and accurate shape as you remove hair strands individually.

If you have a long face, the goal is to make it look shorter. Avoid overly arching your eyebrows and work with horizontal or straight-line shaped brows. This will help open up your face sideways.

Easiest shape

An oval-shaped face is said to be the easiest shape to work on because any silhouette for the eyebrow will look good on it. Try a soft, angled arch on your brows. Experiment because almost anything will look good on you!

If you have a heart face, soften your chin with a rounded, low-arched brow shape. Think Reese Witherspoon when finding the right eyebrows for this shape. Avoid a straight shape, as you want to minimize sharp angles on your face.

A diamond face has an angular shape that’s widest at the upper middle part of the face. The goal is to soften your face with curved brows, to make your cheekbones look narrower.

A square face, on the other hand, is striking because of its strong jawline. So make sure to balance this with an angled brow shape by avoiding high arches on your brows.

Thicker, natural eyebrows would look great; try waxing or threading your brows to allow them to groom and follow your natural brow shape.

Once you have your face shape preference in place, have the right tools to ensure that you are able to complete your task properly: a good pair of tweezers, an eyebrow liner, an eyebrow brush and an eyebrow trimmer/brush.

Celebrity fave

Start by grooming your brows properly. Clean the stray hairs under your brows with a tweezer, or visit a professional to have them spruced and tidied up.

Brush your eyebrows and repeat. After doing so, fill them with an eyebrow pencil/liner. A current celebrity favorite is K-Palette’s 1 Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eyebrow Liner, the staying power of which is fantastic.

The K-Palette has an eyebrow powder at one end, and a felt pen with an ultra-fine tip for accuracy and precision at the other end. Fill your bald spots with the powder-ended side, then line with the liner in feathery strokes to accurately draw your eyebrows. Brush them again with an eyebrow brush for a natural look.

After lining your brows, finish them off with K-Palette’s Real Lasting Eyebrow Mascara. The process is easy because it comes with a brush that will help you apply as sparingly or as heavy as you want. Again, the mascara is long-lasting and guaranteed smudgeproof and waterproof.

K- Palette is available in all Beauty Bar stores.
