Staring through a scrim of floral lace and dreamy tulle, Jessica Yang, one of Manila’s most sought-after models, flits around her room to reveal one drool-worthy piece after another.
“I love laidback and comfy,” she admits. “I guess the bohemian look is perfect for me.”
With a boudoir overflowing with muted pastels and shades of chambray, Yang easily comes up with ensembles that are decidedly unconventional yet chic: “I have a lot of street wear (which I always get from Oxygen) but now I’m leaning towards the Free People look and there are so many brands here that carry that aesthetic.”
Aside from finding inspiration from Free People for her personal wardrobe, Yang curates a line of pre-loved items with John James Uy called Dirty
Ice Cream. “We find many pieces that are too cool that we don’t really worry whether someone buys it or not; it will just be a welcome addition to our closets!”
True to her free-spirit attitude, Yang also announces her dream of heading to Thailand later this year: “There’s this elephant farm there where you spend a week or more taking care of those loving creatures. I already looked it up online and I’m set.”
“More than anything, though, I like going with the flow,” she muses.
Whether it’s sartorial fluidity or a relaxed outlook, Yang’s nature is incredibly refreshing.
