The ‘froshie’ secret files

It’s the first month of school—a fact that has just sunk in among students in the Philippines. Those enrolled at De La Salle University (DLSU), whose trimester started in May, have had more time to spend with their new schoolmates.

Even before some of the first year students (dubbed “froshies”) had their first day at DLSU, they had been wanting to know what it was like to study in the school on Taft Avenue. They would turn to the page where they could get real advice: their Secret Files Facebook Page.

The Facebook page on their fellow Lasallians has become a favorite among students and faculty to read, relate to and laugh about. Most of the people know the drill; you have a story, then you send it out and wait for the comments to come flying at you.

New experience

Some of the quotes you are about to read are by froshies or about froshies. Since the college experience has just begun to sink in, their days in school might be all new to them.

That’s where the upperclassmen come in and point out what things they have to get used to, or point out how they are simply being too much of a “frosh.”

Sabi nung guy 1, ‘Ano ha?’ then sinuntok niya agad yung isang lalake. At yon, rumble nga. After ilang minutes naawat din, at di na namin alam nangyare, di kami chismoso/a eh.

“More peace please!

‘Wala akong paki’

“Sobrang nakakag*g* talaga ang mga freshmen. I was on my way down from the 10th floor at Andrew Hall after my first class. When the elevator opened, a couple of froshies went out and DELIBERATELY PRESSED EVERY SINGLE FLOOR. When they were walking out, one of them asked, ‘Bakit mo ginawa yun?’ The girl who pressed the buttons said,  ‘Wala akong paki.’ GO *bleep* YOURSELF.”—Pissed-off Senior, CCS 111

“This is about Yahoo groups… Iisa lang Yahoo e-mail address ko, which is…pang-jeje pa. I had no choice, kaya ayun nilagay ko… And to be honest, first time kong gumamit ng Yahoo group.”— mhalditah, CED 114

“Admin please post this. I think everyone deserves to know the truth.
