L’Indochine, the retail store of tasteful Asian homeware, opens its flagship store on the fourth level of SM Mega Fashion Hall today, Aug. 27.
Since 2013 when sisters-in-law Charlene Carlos and Leona Panutat opened L’Indochine at SM Aura Premier, customers have been clamoring for a branch in the north.
“We also wanted a larger space to execute all the exciting ideas and plans we have for the store.”
The 251.67-square-meter flagship store is almost three times bigger than the SM Aura store, giving more opportunities for special design concepts, as well as for highlighting larger items and furniture.
Like the first store, the new branch will showcase well-curated and well-designed items with the distinct modern Asian style.
Carlos and Panutat will introduce their new finds from recent journeys to India, Myanmar, Indonesia and Thailand.
Many of these items are handmade, making them one-of-a-kind and limited in quantity. Created by skilled craftsmen and local artisans trained in techniques passed on from generations, these special pieces can each take anywhere from a week to 100 days to produce.
The store’s location at Mega Fashion Hall has also inspired the duo to “focus on increasing our fashion and accessories collection. Apparel from India, Thailand and Indonesia will make their way into our racks.”
Elements of style will also be evident in their home collection, which will focus on accent pieces from show-stopping ceramics, bright and cheerful batik pouffes and pillows to block print textiles, colorful glass and serving ware.
“We will also carry more furniture and home accessories in bold saturated colors.”
The store will have furniture, bedding and rugs in its upcoming collections. Furniture pieces from up-and-coming Thai designers will also be on display.
L’Indochine is located at the 4/L SM Mega Fashion Hall.
