EDM, a.k.a. dance music, club music or simply dance, has become a buzzword in the music scene.
Recognized in 2010 by the American music industry and music press, EDM is now embraced by the youth and the pop audience. It was produced primarily for dance music festivals, nightclubs or parties. The synthesized orchestrations, complex rhythms and loud bass gave today’s youth generation a sense of adventure.
What really makes EDM tick?
It isn’t just for people who go to parties; it’s also for those who want to be active and motivated. For example, if you feel lazy doing chores, play some EDM and pump up the volume. With the loud, pumping bass, high-pitched vocals and synthesized orchestrations, you’ll be energized.
EDM has been embraced by the mainstream pop audience. You’ll hear it playing on radios or somebody else’s speakers everywhere.
I personally enjoy listening to EDM, especially when I’m playing. It makes everything more intense. It makes me want to jump and get loose.
Here are my Top 10 EDM songs that I love to repeat playing over and over again:
1. “Summer”—Calvin Harris
2. “Bad”—David Guetta ft. Vassy
3. “Wasted”—Tiesto and Matthew Koma
5. “Boneless”—Steve Aoki, Chris Lake and Tujamo
6. “Tremor”—Dmitri Vegas, Like Mike and Martin Garrix
7. “Ping Pong”—Armin Van Burren (Hardwell Remix)
8. “Helicopter”—Martin Garrix
9. “Find You”—Zedd ft. Matthew Koma
10. “Do or Die”—Afrojack vs Thirty Seconds To Mars
And because of the music’s popularity, major EDM events have emerged in many parts of the globe, like the Ultra Music Festival which began in Florida.
EDM fans in the Philippines are looking forward to Neverland Manila which will be held on Oct. 3 at the SM Mall of Asia open grounds.
The event features one of the most famous EDM artists, Afrojack.
