The Latin word sanctuarium originally refers to a place that is a haven for all that is holy. It is a place where beauty and charity come together. A sanctuary brings the brightest ideals of mankind and uses them for a higher purpose.

It is in this light that “Mga Obra sa Santuario 2” should be taken. This is the second installment of the art for charity exhibit series. The first one raised money for the victims of Typhoon “Yolanda.”

This year, Art Gallery Asia partners with the Franciscan Development Office to present an exhibition of works by Masters, National Artists, and leading contemporary artists to raise funds for the Friars Health Fund, which assists ailing Franciscan friars.

In the beautiful setting of Santuario de San Antonio in Forbes Park, will be exhibited the  works of National Artists Arturo Luz, BenCab and J. Elizalde Navarro. Also featured are works my such masters as Tam Austria, Manuel Baldemor, Raul Isidro, Ramon Orlina, Gus Albor and Norma Balleza.

Also to be auctioned off are works by Marcel Antonio, Elmer Borlongan, Nelson Bosita, Andres Barrioquinto and Rene Cuvos.

The exhibition is ongoing until Sept. 15 at Parish Center, Bay 1, Santuario de San Antonio, Forbes Park, Makati City. The event is organized by Art Gallery Asia, located at 3/F Patriarch Building, 2224 Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City. Call 0917-8943888.
