In Maison&Objet Paris’ September 2014 edition, Design Philippines presents an inspired collection of 12 unique Philippine brands led by Kenneth Cobonpue, Hive, Schema, Industria and Triboa Bay Living. Joining the delegates are emerging Philippine brands Lightworks, Padua, Zacarias | S.C. Vizcarra, and the special participation of Asia Ceramics, Domicillo by Peter & Paul, Miguel Aguas for MCCA and TADECO Home.

“Working side by side with master craftsmen, designers challenge convention by exploring new materials, exaggerating forms and fusing processes. It is a collaboration seeking the balance between old and new, intuition and reason. The result is an inspired collection of Design Philippines that bridges generations and yet brings a light, fresh breeze from a distant design shore,” said Rosvi Gaetos, executive director of the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM).

Kenneth Cobonpue, MAISON&OBJET ASIA’s Designer of the Year, presents his new collections of whimsical forms achieved from diverse materials and techniques such as hand-sculpted iron, joined rattan poles, and hand-bended metal sheets. Hive leads with Flutter, a sublime wall art of butterflies exquisitely made out of metal wire and wood pulp. Industria features its hand-forged metal creations, starting with its Starburst collection. Lightworks puts on display its Piedra collection, which focuses on the brand’s expertise in gilding.

Padua explores classic forms and transforms them into modern pieces that are both graphic and tactile. Zacarias | S.C. Vizcarra gives fluidity and elegance to its Monolith and Monochrome collections. Schema, recognized in the September 2013 edition as Interieur TV’s Le Top 10 MAISON&OBJET d’Interieurs, gives a 3D quality to its interpretation of honeycomb in its newest collection of table lamps. Triboa Bay Living presents the Romblon collection, which combines wood and marble as its table surface.

The Design Philippines booth is located at G88, Hall 7, scenes d’interieur, MAISON&OBJET Paris, Parc des Expositions, Paris-Nord Villepinte.  MAISON&OBJET Paris is from Sept. 5-9, 2014 and organized by SAFI, a subsidiary of Ateliers d’Art de France and Reed Expositions France.
