Few things can get us out of the house. For us to travel all the way to Quezon City (we live in the south) was unheard of. Then we learned that Cotton On’s stationery/lifestyle goods shop Typo had opened its doors in TriNoma—and suddenly the faraway mall beckoned to us like an alien spacecraft.

A visit to Typo felt very much like those wild shopping frenzies when your mind blanks out and you get crazy over an insane bill and piles of stuff you don’t remember buying.

The opening of Typo in the country also coincided with the brand’s collaboration with Peanuts. Fans of Snoopy and the gang will be hard-pressed to resist buying everything from the collection—ceramic pen holders in the shape of Snoopy, tin lunch boxes, resin pens, magnets, notebooks, iPad sleeves, alarm clocks, ceramic drinking tumblers, die-cut velour pouches in the shape of Snoopy’s and Charlie Brown’s heads, paint your own Peanuts figurines, paper clips, plush Snoopy pencil cases.

They even have wrapping paper. Hurry before everything’s gone, though. The cute Peanuts satchels were out of stock by the time we got there.

Aside from the stationery, there are many knick-knacks for decorating your room; they’re the types that you instantly add to your Pinterest board.

There are big metal letters that you can buy per letter to create your own word, vintage looking jars, bottles and clocks. There’s even a deer head made out of carton that you can put together. We also love the fairy lights and pastel-colored wooden pegs.

AS IF! Clueless magnet

Like we said, Typo is like Pinterest come to life. Some items are affordable like the journals, chalkboards, clocks, phone and tablet cases, while some were a bit pricey. We filled up our basket with velour animal-shaped pouches until we saw that each cost P599. We (very reluctantly) put it back and chose just the Snoopy one instead.

Fans of throwback and quirky stuff will love Typo. We spent a good minute trying to select a magnet from its cheeky range, which included cats asking us to “Show Us Your Kitties,” and one that was like a mini-movie poster from “Clueless.”

PUG PRINT

Other collections aside from the Peanuts collaboration include “Crazy Cat Lady,” a hodgepodge of adorable cat-themed accessories, and “A Pug Life,” for pug lovers.

Typo is at Level 1 of TriNoma, QC; another branch is set to open in Greenbelt on Sept. 25.
