Every year the Fashion Institute of the Philippines (FIP), together with YKK Philippines, attempts to make the dreams of budding fashion designers come true with their annual graduation fashion show. As in previous years, this year’s show will feature the most creative of the batch.
Established in 2003, FIP has successfully transitioned some of their student designers into the fashion world through their graduation shows. These shows could very well be the first taste of a real fashion show for these students. Following in the footsteps of some of the school’s more notable students like Francis Libiran, Oliver Tolentino and Pia Gladys Perey, to name a few, this will be an event to look out for.
There are 22 students from all over the Philippines in the graduating class of 2014. This will be the first time the graduation collection will be showcasing talent from outside Metro Manila. It is definitely going to be an exciting presentation seeing what different parts of our archipelago have to offer in terms of talent, vision and craftsmanship.
The “Graduation Show 2014” of the Fashion Institute of the Philippines and YKK Philippines will be held on Oct. 2, 6 p.m., at the Mega Fashion Hall, SM Megamall. Together with the Philippine Daily Inquirer, witness a new batch of designers compete for the “Designer of the Year” Award.
