Jollibee hailed as ‘best int’l restaurant chain’ by US food website

MANILA, Philippines—A popular Filipino fast-food chain was hailed as the “best international restaurant chain” by a United States food and lifestyle website.

 

In an article written by Adam Lapetina entitled “The 16 Best International Restaurants Chains, Ranked” published last Sunday at Thrillist.com, Jollibee snagged the top spot in the rankings, beating Japanese ramen restaurant Ippudo and Saudi Arabian fried chicken food chain Al Baik.

Lapetina said that Jollibee is “one of the most recognizable figures in the Philippines.”

 

This guy slings Filipino comfort food (tuna pies!! SPAM sandwiches!! Spicy fried chicken!!) at over 2,000 locations worldwide, including a few locations stateside,” Lapetina said.

 

Lapetina added that Thrillist have set the ranking by asking their international friends “to find the best chains most Americans have never heard of — and then we ranked them from worst to best.”

 

Other restaurants included in the list are: Teremok from Russia, Toast Box from Singapore, Nordsee from Germany, Kungfu from China, Quick from France, Burger Ranch from Israel, Telepizza from Spain, Wagamama from United Kingdom, Supermac’s from Israel, Giraffas from Brazil, Steers from South Africa, Hamburguesas El Corral from Colombia, and Oporto from Australia.

 

Jollibee Foods Corporation is currently operating 2,833 stores worldwide.
