Recognizing and using your intuition

Many times we have an inner knowledge that is very positive. Some describe it as hope or wishing. Some say it is a premonition of things to come.

Let me attempt to describe how it works. For our purpose, let us broadly define intuition, hope, feeling and knowing as the same thing, in a very general sense, of course. This will make the understanding of intuition much less abstract.

We have an inner knowledge, a radar, an inner measuring system that is highly accurate when used properly. Your intuition can save you from danger, guide you towards an amazing income-generating opportunity, and can even give you ideas and inspiration for a project or a new business.

It is knowing who to befriend and who to avoid. It is knowing when to move forward or when to be patient.

As such, learning how to use your intuition is not psychic mumbo-jumbo, but rather utilizing what is innate within us, what is part of who we are—what can be defined as energy.

We all have it; intuition is not something developed, but is part of who we are. Some just have a more developed sense of intuition than others, simply because they utilize it.

Just like anything that is part of you, if utilized, it works; if not, it stops working.

If you covered one eye, for instance, for an extended period of time, it would stop learning how to see. Bad example, but you get the picture.

Intuition is that inner knowing, that inner voice that comes as a feeling that is either positive or negative. Let us not, however, confuse intuition with paranoia.

Non-judgment

Here is how we can tell the difference: Intuition comes from a point of non-judgment. Meaning, it is completely neutral. It has no basis except for what it is. It does not come from a place of desire and want.

For example, saying I have an intuition that you are getting a car soon is not your intuition; this is desire.

You can manifest a car, and that is a completely different topic.   But if you have a feeling that you are about to get a new car—take note that we are playing with words again here—a feeling that just comes to you, because you just know that you are getting a new car and the feeling flows within you, then chances are you are intuiting that you’re probably getting a new car soon.

Energy at play

Let’s try a better example. If you have a constant fear of losing your cell phone, one fine day you will in fact lose your cell phone—either someone steals it or you will carelessly leave it somewhere.

The energy at play here is constant fear or worry. Remember that what you focus on becomes your reality—what you think of comes true.

So, by constantly worrying and having the fear of losing your cellphone, you will lose it. That is fear. That is worry. That is paranoia.

If, however, you are generally careful about your cellphone and you hardly ever worry that it will get lost, you never fear that it will get lost. If, one day, you suddenly get this feeling—a warning thought to be careful today, as you might lose your cell phone—that is intuition.

It is not fear, it is not paranoia, it is not worry. It is that little nudge or that sense of knowing, almost like a gentle warning that comes as a feeling. That is intuition. When you get that, listen, trust and pay attention.

It doesn’t mean that you will lose your cellphone, but you will probably encounter a situation during the day that will make you lose your cellphone if you are not mindful.

I think most of us have had that experience of a nudging feeling that we ignored, and it happened, and we wish we hadn’t ignored it in the first place.

Your intuition will guide you towards many things—the right people, the perfect opportunities. You just need to practice, to learn how to use it, and to differentiate between intuition and fear.

Intuition is based on love; fear is based on worry and paranoia. Awareness is the key. Practice is fun and enables you to discern.

The more you use your intuition, the more accurate your inner radar becomes; and you will learn to rely on and trust your intuition because it will never be wrong.
