Librarians to hold national congress Nov. 26-28 | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

The Philippine Librarians Association Inc. (PLAI), in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, through the National Committee on Libraries and Information Services and the National Library of the Philippines, will hold its annual National Congress from Nov. 26 to 28 at the Century Park Hotel, Malate, Manila.

Theme is “Philippine Libraries: Future Possibilities.” The congress seeks to update librarians on new trends and practices that will improve resources and services among libraries; to generate renewed interest in conducting research among librarians and information professionals; and to identify challenges facing the profession which can affect the future of librarianship in the country.

There will be parallel sessions to be sponsored by specific library associations to discuss topics related to their particular type of library (i.e. academic, public, school, and special). Moreover, concerns affecting membership in particular and the profession in general will be tackled.

For inquiries, call the PLAI office at (02)5259401 or send an e-mail to the PLAI National Board of Trustees at [email protected]. Interested participant may preregister at www.plai.org.ph/plaicongress2014/registration. For more details, please check the PLAI website, www.plai.org.ph
