Agency apologizes

I apologize to the Philippine Daily Inquirer for the information I provided that caused the Ateneo Psychology Department to lodge a complaint against the newspaper for erroneous reportage.

In our meeting with the chair, Dr. Gina Hechanova, Peter Gatmaitan and Sonia Araneta, they raised issue with the following points, both of which were false, as the agency had not in fact secured their agreement to partner on Project Rainbow:

1) That the department appeared to be part of the art activity in Tacloban;

2) And that the department participated in the exhibit and would receive the proceeds from the sale of the artworks.

As mentioned in my previous letter, the agency’s major oversight was in assuming that the Ateneo team it partnered with was affiliated with the Ateneo Psychology Department.

We have since apologized for this and sent them a statement to clarify and rectify information released. Dr. Hechanova also suggested that proceeds be donated instead to the disaster fund of the Psychological Association of the Philippines.
