Back after its successful Singapore run last October, critically acclaimed musical “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” received plenty of raves from theater fans as it took center stage once again at Resorts World Manila (RWM). Audiences got to relive the fabulous journey when the production reopened for its encore performances at the award-winning Newport Performing Arts Theater (NPAT) last November 28 (Friday).
Limited to only eight shows for its second stint at the NPAT, the musical built on the success of its initial run by incorporating new scenes to highlight the other characters of this well-loved dramedy. Aside from the new elements, the production also featured superb performances from returning headliners Jon Santos as ‘Bernadette’ and Red Concepcion as Felicia, as well as inspired acting from new lead Michael Stuart Williams who plays the role of Mitzi.
Fresh faces were also added to the musical as singer OJ Mariano and “Miss Saigon” veteran Ima Castro joins the all-Filipino ensemble which includes Lani Ligot, Timmy Canlas, Pinky Marquez, and none other than the First Lady of Philippine Theater, Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo. Also watch out for performances from Raymond Concepcion II who is cast as Jon Santos’ alternate for the production.
Don’t miss out on this chance to experience the glitz and glam of this heartwarming tale as it goes on stage for its final four performances from December 5 to 7 at Resorts World Manila’s NPAT.
