Just recently, international men’s fragrance brand AXE changed one man’s life forever.

L.A. Aguinaldo, the “Suave Traveler,” was named AXE Gold Man after an arduous, month-long competition. With the title came the Gold Life—he drove a brand-new Volkswagen Beetle to his new condo in Bonifacio Global City. This December, L.A. and two of his friends jet off to Las Vegas for the experience of a lifetime.

Selection process

Skill, creativity, charm and determination earned L.A. his AXE Gold Man title. Ari Salud, Jaime Ramirez and L.A. were the final three contenders in the AXE Gold Pass competition after a full day of interviews, dares, and challenges at Eastwood Open Park.

The panel of judges  then took the competition to new heights at the new Marco Polo Hotel in Ortigas. Here, the aspirants fiercely competed for two weeks in three major challenges—Styling with Sidney Yap; Charm the Girl with Boys Night Out’s Sam YG, Slick Rick, and Tony Toni; and Mixology with KC Montero and Larry Guevara of Liquid Concepts.

A fourth challenge at Universe Gastrolounge and Nightclub was also held on the week of the competition.

The results of these challenges determined a bulk of the criteria for the AXE Gold Man.

Fans showed their support for their chosen candidate through Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. #GoldManARI, #GoldManJaime and #GoldManLA served as the online voting ballots, and social media support factored in 10 percent of the aspirants’ total scores.

Winners all

As grand winner, L.A. formally joined the AXE family—with his new ride, crib and vacay to Vegas.

“Sleek Broker” Ari was picked first runner-up, winning a free trip for two to Hong Kong.

“Classy Entrepreneur” Jaime was second runner-up, with a free trip for two to Boracay.
