Octogenarian celebrates with family, friends

Lita Alejar-Faustino, mother of prolific songwriter Tats Faustino and musical director Mon Faustino, recently turned 84 and celebrated it with a lunch buffet at the Manila Polo Club.

“Mama Lita” to 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, this charming woman wore an outfit care of her sister Evelyn Alejar-Tuazon, accessorized with a Banana Republic necklace from daughter-in-law Babic Flores-Faustino.

Her hair and makeup were done by Jo Anne Medina of Ponytail Salon.

The Japanese buffet was tendered by Tats, Mon and her other children Emy, Lito, Tek, Ding, Ricky and Ylette.

Guests who attended the celebration included her co-Rhapsody Club members, balikbayan friends, cograduates from UST Pharmacy, and some of her closest friends.

Adding more enjoyment to the delightful affair was the guests’ enthusiastic impromptu singing of old-time favorites.

Before the end of the luncheon, Lita thanked everyone who had made her 84th birthday a most enjoyable and memorable one.
