A new hotel is being promoted as a family-oriented destination.
The 82-room Summit Hotel Magnolia is a stylish complement to the Robinsons Magnolia Mall. Located on Hemady Street and Aurora Boulevard near New Manila in Quezon City, the mixed-use center stands on the grounds of the former Magnolia Ice Cream House.
To set the brand-new boutique hotel off to a lucky start, all rooms and suites are priced ending with the lucky number 7. Introductory rates start at P3,777 net (from regular rate of P5,777) for Super Rooms, inclusive of VAT and Super Breakfast for two. This special rate is valid until Feb. 28.
Summit Hotel Magnolia is the homegrown upscale brand of Robinsons Land Corporation. Hotel manager Juan Carlos “Pops” del Rosario says the hotel would like to be known as a “powerful brand with unique concepts in hospitality.”
The hotel’s understated elegance harmonizes with the sleekness of the adjacent Robinsons Magnolia Mall, says architect Ernesto “Boyong” Aquino, senior project director of Robinsons Hotels and Resorts, who injected fun in the interiors. Guests are welcomed by the sheen of metallics against the geometric patterns in the Art Deco lobby.
The themed suites are conversation pieces. The Nostalgia Suite pays homage to the iconic ice cream parlor with touches of old Magnolia milk bottles, while the Fabulous Suite is adorned with movie posters. Inspired by the tale of “Aladdin’s Lamp,” the Magical Suite is adorned with curved arches and Moroccan filigree lamps.
The Divine Room Suite is a Zen-like space with Oriental latticework and black-and-white brushwork paintings. The pieces de resistance are the Super King and Super Family Rooms, all furnished with extremely wide beds and deep sofas with vibrant colors.
The hotel has partnered with merchants from Robinsons Magnolia to make the guests “staycation” more customized. “Conti’s is our official breakfast provider. You can get room service from The Clubhouse menu or have an in-room massage and nail spa from Lunula. For the wedding market, there’s Wash ’N’ Wear for laundry and dry cleaning,” says Del Rosario.
He adds that Quezon City is the country’s second largest wedding destination next to Tagaytay. The hotel is only five minutes from Mt. Carmel Shrine in New Manila and the sought-after event venue, The Oasis Manila in San Juan.
Beyond the sleek interiors and the location, Summit Hotel Magnolia aims to be known for its caring hospitality. “The Filipino brand of service and product are world-class. By getting to know our guests better, we can be part of their plans in the future and deliver their needs when they come back,” says Del Rosario.
